What is the future of learning?AI + Holographic Technology + Learning Equity

The speed of technology demands for e-Learning to stay progressive and remain relevant. AI and hologram connectivity is changing the landscape of connection in all forms. The future of AI and hologram connectivity was envisioned in George Lucas’ 1977 iconic Star Wars film whenever Princess Leia and Obi-Wan communicated. The future is now.

The learning capacity of young learners today is exponentially higher than all of the generations before. How lucky are the newest learners! Almost every answer to every question can be solved through a mobile device in mere seconds.

This realization is equal parts awe-inspiring and discouraging. Digital accessibility showcases societal economic barriers as the rate of adoption in e-learning environments has been magnified during the 2020-2021 pandemic. The hope is that as the future of learning and e-learning continues to change at mach speeds, so too will equity in learning continue to be safeguarded by the 14th Amendment of the U. S. Constitution for the promise of “the right to a free and public education.”

Humankind.

“Learning is a human activity.” -Donald H. Taylor

We come full circle back to the notion that the greatest learning technology and the future of learning reside squarely on the human connection. The human connection is irreplaceable. If we look to the past, the evidence shows that time and again, born out of world struggle and tragedy e.g. WWII, 9/11, and now a worldwide pandemic, it is the people that bring us back, elevate society, and push us towards betterment and progression. Our human capital is our greatest GDP. In addition to authentic, human connectivity is the profound human neuro-networks and the creative, innovative cognitions that elevate humanity towards progress. This is the magical confluence of human technology mixed with learning technology. Humans will always be an integral headliner in the story of any technology with respect to authentic tradition and technology manifestation and enablement.

Mr. Rogers said when scary times happen, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” The helpers… the first and the last in the learning technology sandwich.

I dedicate this project to my lifelong “helper” and mentor in life and in education… One of the most connected humans to ever stand in front of a classroom or lecture hall.
